Demo of the Smart Cubifab Desktop CNC Milling Machine

We were recently given a demo of the soon-to-be-released on Kickstarter Cubifab C1 Desktop CNC Milling Machine. This mill is small enough to fit on a table or workbench. It is designed to cut material from plastic to wood to steel. And it has several smart fgeatures that make it accessible to those new to CNC and subtractive manufacturing in general.
Some of the features we learned about:
AI assisted design to make a 3D model
Smart tool path generation
Automatic cutting tool switching with an RFID sensing tool tray
Startup and self-leveling
Raw material selection (Aluminum, acrylic, stainless steel, etc.)
How it can make functional load-bearing parts, not just prototypes
It comes with two power options, 250 Watt for soft & 800 Watt for hard materials

Thanks to Cal State Channel Islands and Moorpark College Makerspace for hosting the demo days of this new and innovative machine!
