Tennis coaches often hand-toss the balls to the students at a very slow pace to help them work on the correct form and technique. A CVMake member built this machine to automate that task.

Machine Specs:

  1. Ball capacity: 40 balls

  2. Battery life: 8 hours

  3. Feed intervals: 2, 3, 5 seconds and customizable

  4. Control: local button or phone app for remote control

Here are the parts needed:

  1. ESP32 Microcontroller

  2. Door threshold

  3. Stepper motor

  4. Spiral basket

  5. 12V battery

  6. Tripod with quick-release connector

  7. 3D printed parts

The next part of this project is to make a little robot to run around the court to pick up tennis balls automatically!
